Eight former Philadelphia Eagles players have been nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026. The Hall announced a list of 128 modern-era nominees, which will be narrowed down to 50 in mid-October.
The Eagles nominees include kicker David Akers, quarterback Randall Cunningham, punter Sean Landeta, running back LeSean McCoy, quarterback Donovan McNabb, cornerback Asante Samuel, cornerback Troy Vincent, and running back Ricky Watters.
David Akers made five Pro Bowls with the Eagles and holds franchise records for points (1,323) and field goals made (294). He was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2000s.
Randall Cunningham played 11 seasons in Philadelphia and was known for his mobility. He made three Pro Bowls with the team and held the NFL record for rushing yards by a quarterback during much of his career.
Sean Landeta spent five years with the Eagles as part of a 21-year NFL career that saw him surpass 60,000 punting yards. He was named to the Eagles’ 75th Anniversary Team in 2007.
LeSean McCoy is a first-time nominee after rushing for over 11,000 yards in his career. In six seasons with Philadelphia, he set a franchise record with 1,607 rushing yards in 2013 and earned three Pro Bowl selections.
Donovan McNabb is Philadelphia’s all-time leader in completions (2,801), passing yards (32,873), and touchdowns (216). His No. 5 jersey has been retired by the team. “The second overall pick in 1999, McNabb helped lead the Eagles to four consecutive NFC Championship Games, five total, and a Super Bowl appearance.”
Asante Samuel played four seasons with the Eagles and was selected to three Pro Bowls during that time. Over his career he started 133 games and twice led the league in interceptions and passes defended.
Troy Vincent made five Pro Bowls during eight seasons as an Eagle. He recorded 28 interceptions while with Philadelphia and led the league in both interceptions (1999) and passes defended (2001).
Ricky Watters reached semifinalist status for the Hall of Fame in 2025. After making three Pro Bowls with San Francisco early in his career, he joined Philadelphia where he led the league in yards from scrimmage (1,855) in 1996.
The selection process will continue throughout the year before final inductees are announced ahead of next year’s ceremony.
