The Philadelphia Eagles have continued to adjust their roster ahead of the league’s 53-player deadline on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The team has waived quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, following earlier moves that included trading for quarterback Sam Howell from the Minnesota Vikings and waiving/injured defensive back Lewis Cine.
Thompson-Robinson joined the Eagles during the offseason in a trade with the Cleveland Browns. Over his first two seasons in the NFL, he played 15 games with five starts after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft from UCLA. During this preseason, Thompson-Robinson appeared in two games for Philadelphia but did not play in Friday’s finale against the New York Jets, where rookie Kyle McCord took all offensive snaps. In preseason action, Thompson-Robinson completed 10 of 16 passes for 73 yards, without scoring a touchdown and throwing one interception.
With these recent changes, Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, and Kyle McCord remain on the active roster as quarterbacks. Sam Howell will be added once he completes a physical to finalize his acquisition.
“The work to trim the roster to the best 53 players ahead of Tuesday’s 4 PM deadline is underway for the Eagles.”
