The Philadelphia Eagles have made adjustments to their practice squad, signing outside linebacker Antwaun Powell-Ryland and cornerback Eli Ricks. These moves resulted in the release of defensive end K.J. Henry and defensive tackle Jacob Sykes.

According to the team, “The Eagles continue to rework the practice squad in an effort to field the best 70-player team possible.”

Powell-Ryland was a sixth-round pick by the Eagles in the 2025 NFL Draft from Virginia Tech. He recorded 16 sacks, ranking third among all FBS players, and had 19 tackles for loss during his final college season. In preseason play with the Eagles, he added a sack and forced fumble against the New York Jets. After being released during roster cutdowns, Powell-Ryland returned to the practice squad earlier this week.

Eli Ricks joined the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and has spent two seasons with the organization. He was waived on roster cutdown day but recently re-signed with the team’s practice squad on September 24.

K.J. Henry, originally drafted by Washington in 2023, has played for several teams including Cincinnati and Dallas before joining Cleveland’s practice squad this year. He finished last season on Philadelphia’s practice squad and participated in training camp before returning briefly after being released by Cleveland.

Jacob Sykes went undrafted out of UCLA in 2023 and initially signed with Seattle before spending time with San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League. The Eagles signed him over the summer; he cycled through waivers and short stints on Philadelphia’s practice squad.

These transactions are part of ongoing efforts by the Eagles to optimize their roster ahead of upcoming games.
