The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Apr. 25 that they have selected Micah Morris, a guard from the University of Georgia, with the 207th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Morris brings a record of success to Philadelphia, having played five years with the Georgia Bulldogs and contributing to two National Championships and three Southeastern Conference titles. His experience and performance at one of college football’s top programs could provide depth and skill to the Eagles’ offensive line.
During his redshirt senior season in 2025, Morris started all 14 games at left guard—becoming the only offensive lineman on his team to do so—and did not allow a sack. He helped Georgia average over 32 points per game while also supporting an offense that ranked third nationally in first downs and led all teams in fourth-down conversions during the regular season. The Bulldogs finished with a 12-2 record, winning another SEC Championship before falling in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinals.
Reflecting on his preparation for professional football by practicing against elite teammates at Georgia, Morris said: “Well for starters, it was not fun at first, I’ll tell you that much. It was not fun at first. But it prepared me for this moment. It just provided me with the chance to learn from the best and develop. Obviously I’m just giving them a look, just being scout team, but I’m also perfecting my craft and working against first round draft picks, elite NFL players, All-Pro players. Just being able to do that at a young age, at that point, [against] All-American college players, just being able to give my best against them and try to hold my own against them so whenever it is my time, I’ve been through the hardest that there is to offer.” Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman said: “There’s a lot to like about him. He’s got great size. All of his testing is through the roof. He started every game for Georgia this year. He’s got incredible experience playing in the SEC. He’s got all the ability, and now he’s got to apply that as he gets an opportunity to come here. Another guy just, as we were going through it, stood out on our board for where we were and obviously an important position, so we took him.”
The Eagles operate as a professional American football team based in Philadelphia since entering the National Football League (NFL) in 1933 according to their official website. The organization provides fans with games along with news coverage and ticketing services according to their official website. Their influence extends beyond local boundaries as they reach national audiences through media coverage and merchandising according to their official website.
With Morris joining their roster following this year’s draft selection process—one shaped by careful evaluation—the Eagles continue efforts toward strengthening key positions while maintaining broad engagement among supporters nationwide.
