The Philadelphia Eagles secured a 31-25 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4, moving their season record to 4-0. The game took place in Tampa Bay, where the Eagles built an early lead but faced a late push from the Buccaneers.
The Eagles started strong with special teams making an immediate impact. Cameron Latu blocked a punt, which Sydney Brown returned for a touchdown. Quarterback Jalen Hurts connected twice with tight end Dallas Goedert for short touchdowns in the first half, while Jake Elliott added a field goal to extend the lead.
Despite leading by as many as 21 points, Philadelphia saw Tampa Bay narrow the gap. The Buccaneers responded with long scoring plays, including a 77-yard touchdown reception by Emeka Egbuka and a 72-yard catch-and-run by Bucky Irving.
Philadelphia’s defense made key plays throughout the game. Jihaad Campbell intercepted Baker Mayfield in the end zone late in the fourth quarter to help preserve the Eagles’ lead. Kelee Ringo, making his first start of the season, broke up passes and recovered a fumble forced by Jalyx Hunt.
On offense, Dallas Goedert stood out with four catches for 37 yards and two touchdowns. Saquon Barkley also contributed with a six-yard rushing touchdown following another forced fumble by Campbell.
Cornerback Quinyon Mitchell was noted for his coverage against Tampa Bay receivers and delivered several important pass breakups and tackles.
Cameron Latu’s blocked punt set the tone early for Philadelphia after being signed to the active roster this week.
With this victory, the Eagles remain undefeated ahead of their next matchup at Lincoln Financial Field against the Denver Broncos on October 5.
