On Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field, the Philadelphia Eagles overcame a 19-point second-half deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Rams, 33-26. The Eagles’ record improved to 3-0 after scoring 26 unanswered points in the second half.

The first half saw the Eagles struggle offensively, gaining only 33 net yards and trailing 19-7 at halftime. Early in the third quarter, quarterback Jalen Hurts fumbled after being hit by Jared Verse, leading to a Rams touchdown that extended their lead to 26-7.

The momentum shifted as the Eagles’ passing game came alive. Hurts finished with 21 completions on 32 attempts for 226 yards and three touchdowns, posting a passer rating of 117.4. Wide receiver A.J. Brown caught six passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in the second half, while DeVonta Smith added six receptions for 44 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown with less than two minutes remaining.

The Eagles increased their use of no-huddle offense in the second half, running over half of their plays without huddling according to NFL’s Next Gen Stats.

Fred Johnson, acquired from Jacksonville before the season started, played a key role on the offensive line after right tackle Lane Johnson left with an injury. “I always believe in myself and the players around me,” Johnson said. “I’m conditioned, so that wasn’t a problem. I just looked and couldn’t believe we drove 17 plays and 94 yards on that last drive (that ended with a Hurts-to-Smith touchdown pass). That’s crazy. It’s a good feeling. I was out there thinking I just don’t want to let my teammates and my coaches down.”

Special teams contributed significantly with two blocked field goals—one by Jalen Carter and another by Jordan Davis—the latter returned by Davis for a decisive 61-yard touchdown.

Defensively, Zack Baun recorded seven tackles along with an interception early in the game that set up an initial scoring drive for Philadelphia. Jordan Davis had five tackles, including a sack and tackle for loss.

Running back Saquon Barkley was limited by Los Angeles’ defense to just 46 rushing yards on 18 carries but contributed physically in pass protection.

At 3-0, Philadelphia will face another undefeated team when they play Tampa Bay next Sunday.
