Eagles fans are recognized for their tailgating traditions, and this year the team partnered with Pepsi to identify standout setups at Lincoln Financial Field. After reviewing numerous applications, two fans were selected as Pepsi Tailgate MVPs: Jeffrey Farren in Lot F2 and Temple “Hurricane” LaRue in Lot H1.
Jeffrey Farren has been a season ticket holder for 37 years. He began tailgating with his father, who led the gatherings until his passing in 2004. Since then, Farren has continued the tradition, introducing a new menu about five years ago. Each week, he serves classic foods from the city of the Eagles’ opponent, sourcing items from local businesses in those cities. Cheesesteaks remain a staple on his menu as a nod to Philadelphia. Decorations honoring his father are displayed at the tailgate, and each event is documented in photo albums.
Temple “Hurricane” LaRue’s tailgate is known for its food selection, entertainment, and inclusive atmosphere. The menu features wings, cheesesteaks, brisket nachos, ribeye steak, specialty fried fish sandwiches, and cold Pepsi beverages. The motto is “Everyone eats, everyone belongs.”
“Our tailgate is about more than just pregame’ it’s about building community and creating memories,” Hurricane said.
LaRue also performs as DJ Hurricane LaRue at every event, playing music to energize attendees and highlight Philadelphia classics.
“It’s not just about food and drinks’ it’s about the culture, the camaraderie, and the celebration of our team,” Hurricane said. “Fans come for the cheesesteaks and wings, stay for the music and energy, and leave with new friends. We don’t just tailgate’ we set the tone for gameday.”
