The Philadelphia Eagles overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Rams 33-26 on Sunday, scoring 26 unanswered points in the second half. The team shifted from its previous short passing and run-heavy approach to a more aggressive vertical passing game, which led to several long gains of 38, 33, 25, and 23 yards.

Wide receiver A.J. Brown was a key contributor in the comeback, catching six passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in the second half. “We definitely are going to try and build on this momentum in the second half,” Brown said. “There are a lot of things we can do to get better. We’re going to learn what we did in the first half and continue to learn what we did in the second half and try to keep the momentum going.”

Other offensive players also played significant roles. DeVonta Smith had six catches for 44 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown, while tight end Dallas Goedert contributed with a 33-yard catch-and-run for another touchdown. Quarterback Jalen Hurts finished with three touchdown passes, completing 17 of his 24 attempts for 226 yards.

The Eagles’ offense benefited from playing at a faster tempo with a no-huddle strategy during their rally. Hurts highlighted the team’s adaptability: “The beautiful part about it is we’ve been able to play and win in multiple ways. We’ve been able to play defensive games, play well on defense, and protect the ball and win games. We’ve been able to be very efficient and potent and have a lot of fireworks on offense over time and find ways to win games,” he said.

Hurts also noted the importance of resilience: “We’ve been able to come back from very, very ugly situations and it’s a dangerous thing. And Coach (Nick) Sirianni, he talks about it’s a dangerous thing when the group never gives up, and this group never gave up. That’s what I’m very proud of. I think a win like this is encouraging, but it also lights a fire under everybody to strive for the level of execution that we want.

“We talk about playing for a standard. The standard isn’t to produce or to have these numbers or certain statistics, it is to execute whatever we’re asked to do. I don’t think we did that in the first half. I think we kind of changed our approach in the second half and that definitely helped us weather throughout the game and make plays the way we did.”

Looking ahead, Philadelphia will face Tampa Bay next week—a team known for its strong defense under coach Todd Bowles. Since 2021, Tampa Bay has won four out of five meetings against Philadelphia.

Brown expressed optimism about building on Sunday’s performance: “It is something that we can learn from and build off of. I truly believe that we’ve got so many good players on this team and let’s play fast and aggressive. Obviously, we’re going to run the ball and set up the pass off the run and set up the run off the pass and we have a lot of good players and I feel like you should just let them go.”

The Eagles aim to use their recent victory as motivation as they prepare for another challenging matchup.
