The Philadelphia Eagles held a training camp session on Monday at the NovaCare Complex, where players practiced in rainy conditions as they began their final week of camp.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts performed well despite the weather, connecting with several receivers throughout practice. Wide receiver Jahan Dotson stood out by making multiple catches from Hurts, stepping up in the absence of A.J. Brown, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury. DeVonta Smith also had an active day, highlighted by a contested touchdown catch against rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean.

Linebacker Zack Baun participated in his first full-team drills since returning from a back injury. He shared reps with Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and first-round draft pick Jihaad Campbell. Campbell continued to make an impact during team periods, including breaking up a pass intended for tight end Dallas Goedert.

On defense, Patrick Johnson recorded what would have been a sack thanks to pressure from Azeez Ojulari. Defensive lineman Jalen Carter made a tackle for loss on running back Saquon Barkley and was disruptive during practice.

Running back Will Shipley caught several passes out of the backfield, continuing to show his receiving skills during camp. Tight end Kylen Granson caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Hurts while under pressure.

Other notable plays included pass breakups by Trotter Jr., Quinyon Mitchell, and Reed Blankenship; receptions by Grant Calcaterra and Nick Muse; tight coverage from Parry Nickerson; and a 20-yard completion from Kyle McCord to Elijah Cooks.

In addition to Brown, guard Landon Dickerson (knee) did not participate but watched from the sideline. Cornerbacks Tariq Castro-Fields (hamstring), Brandon Johnson (groin), and safety Lewis Cine (groin) were also absent due to injuries. Guard Kenyon Green returned as a limited participant after recovering from a shoulder issue.

The Eagles are scheduled to continue practice on Tuesday morning. Offensive Coordinator Kevin Patullo will address the media before practice begins.

“Despite the wet conditions, Jalen Hurts was sharp throughout practice. The ball rarely touched the ground as Hurts found a number of different pass catchers.”

“Jahan Dotson had one of his best practices of the offseason, connecting with Hurts for multiple solid gains. With A.J. Brown sidelined, Dotson had stepped up alongside DeVonta Smith.”

“Speaking of Smith, he had an active practice as well. He made some catches over the middle and on the sideline, but his best grab came in the front corner of the end zone where he brought in a contested catch on Cooper DeJean, who was in tight coverage.”

“Zack Baun got his first 11-on-11 action since returning from his back injury. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and first-round pick Jihaad Campbell each got reps alongside the 2024 All-Pro.”

“Campbell’s presence continues to stand out at practice. He had a pass breakup on a throw intended for Dallas Goedert and is seemly always around the ball during team periods.”

“Patrick Johnson had a would-be sack. Pressure from Azeez Ojulari helped Johnson get to the quarterback on the rep.”

“Jalen Carter had a tackle for loss on Saquon Barkley. Carter was disruptive and brought an edge to Monday’s practice.”

“Will Shipley had multiple catches out of the backfield. He has shown his pass catching ability this Training Camp.”

“Kylen Granson had an active day, registering a few catches including a 20-yard touchdown from Hurts, who was escaping pressure.”

“Trotter Jr. had a pass breakup … Quinyon Mitchell and Reed Blankenship combined for a pass breakup … Grant Calcaterra made some grabs with the first- and second-team offenses … Parry Nickerson had tight coverage on a rep against the third team … Nick Muse had some grabs at the end of practice … Elijah Cooks brought in a 20-yard pass from Kyle McCord.”

“Starters A.J. Brown (hamstring) and Landon Dickerson (knee) remained out, although both watched from the sideline. Cornerbacks Tariq Castro-Fields (hamstring) and Brandon Johnson (groin) and safety Lewis Cine (groin) didn’t practice as well. Guard Kenyon Green (shoulder) returned to practice as a limited participant.”

“The Eagles return to the practice field on Tuesday at 10 AM. Offensive Coordinator Kevin Patullo is scheduled to speak with the media at 9:40 AM, followed by select players after practice.”
