The Philadelphia Eagles lost to the New York Giants 34-17 on Thursday Night Football at MetLife Stadium, marking their second consecutive defeat. The Eagles now hold a 4-2 record, while the Giants improve to 2-4.

Philadelphia began the game with a 42-yard field goal by Jake Elliott. The Giants responded with quarterback Jaxson Dart running for a 20-yard touchdown and wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson catching a 35-yard pass for another score. Jude McAtamney missed an extra point after Robinson’s touchdown.

Tight end Dallas Goedert scored for the Eagles on a three-yard shovel pass from Jalen Hurts, reducing the deficit. In the second quarter, Hurts gave Philadelphia the lead with a one-yard “Tush Push” touchdown following several long completions to A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Jahan Dotson.

Cornerback Quinyon Mitchell left the game with a hamstring injury in the second quarter and was ruled out in the third quarter. Before halftime, Cam Skattebo ran in a four-yard touchdown for New York to regain the lead.

In the third quarter, Skattebo added another one-yard rushing touchdown for the Giants. During this period, Eagles linebacker Patrick Johnson recorded his first career sack on Jaxson Dart, who briefly exited for concussion evaluation before returning.

Jalen Hurts threw his first interception of the season in the fourth quarter while targeting Jahan Dotson in the red zone. Cor’Dale Flott returned it 68 yards to set up another short-field opportunity for New York. Skattebo then scored his third rushing touchdown of the night after a penalty against Philadelphia put New York at the one-yard line.

Later in the fourth quarter, A.J. Dillon fumbled after moving into Giants territory, allowing New York to maintain control of the game.

Dallas Goedert led all receivers with nine catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. Adoree’ Jackson stepped up defensively for New York with seven tackles and two passes defended after Mitchell’s injury sidelined him early.

The Eagles will have an extended break before traveling to face the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday. Minnesota is coming off its bye week; former Eagle Carson Wentz has started their last three games as J.J. McCarthy recovers from an ankle injury.
