The Philadelphia Eagles have elevated safety Marcus Epps and tight end Cameron Latu to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. In a corresponding move, rookie tackle Cameron Williams has been placed on Injured Reserve due to a shoulder injury.

Epps joined the Eagles’ practice squad after being released by the New England Patriots during final roster cuts. Last week, he was also elevated and played 13 special teams snaps, accounting for 59% of those plays in the game against the Dallas Cowboys. Epps has experience with the team, having appeared in 83 NFL games and making 25 starts for Philadelphia between 2020 and 2022.

Latu’s elevation marks his first appearance on the active roster this season and could lead to his NFL debut in Week 2. Drafted in the third round by the San Francisco 49ers in 2023, Latu is expected to help fill some of fullback Ben VanSumeren’s responsibilities while VanSumeren remains on Injured Reserve. Offensive Coordinator Kevin Patullo said, “Latu as someone who could help fill VanSumeren’s role.”

The Eagles will be without starting tight end Dallas Goedert, who is sidelined with a knee injury for this week’s matchup against Kansas City. The addition of Latu provides depth at tight end alongside Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson, both of whom took backfield snaps last week following VanSumeren’s exit from play.

Cameron Williams was selected by Philadelphia in the sixth round of this year’s draft out of Texas, where he started at right tackle. He did not play in Week 1 against Dallas.
