The Philadelphia Eagles secured a 38-20 victory over the New York Giants at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, improving their record to 6-2. The game opened with running back Saquon Barkley scoring on a 65-yard run. Barkley finished the day with 150 rushing yards on 14 carries and added another touchdown as a receiver.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts threw four touchdown passes and completed 15 of his 20 attempts for 179 yards. The Eagles’ offense accumulated a total of 427 net yards, including 276 rushing yards. Tank Bigsby contributed significantly off the bench, running for 104 yards on nine carries.
The offensive line played an important role in the win, with Brett Toth making his first start at center in place of injured Cam Jurgens. Toth’s performance against defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence provided stability up front. Other linemen, including Landon Dickerson and Jordan Mailata, also contributed to establishing control at the line of scrimmage.
Defensively, Nakobe Dean made an impact as part of a unit that limited New York to just 68 rushing yards. Jihaad Campbell and Zack Baun were among several players who helped contain Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, who was held to only 17 rushing yards and was sacked five times.
Injuries sidelined several key players for both teams, but the Eagles adapted by utilizing depth across their roster. DeVonta Smith led receivers with eight catches for 84 yards while Dallas Goedert caught three passes—two resulting in touchdowns.
Special teams were highlighted by Will Shipley’s average of 33 yards per kickoff return and two tackles in coverage units. Punter Braden Mann had one punt for 57 yards, and Jake Elliott converted a field goal from forty yards after missing an earlier attempt from fifty-eight.
Offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo directed an effective game plan that saw Philadelphia score touchdowns on all three red zone trips and keep New York’s defense unsettled throughout the contest.
With this win behind them, the Eagles will enter their bye week atop their division standings before resuming play later in the season.
