The Philadelphia Eagles secured a 20-17 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2 of the NFL regular season, moving to a 2-0 record while the Chiefs fell to 0-2.
A pivotal moment occurred when Eagles safety Andrew Mukuba intercepted a pass intended for Travis Kelce in the end zone. The play came with Philadelphia leading by three points and led to an Eagles touchdown on a quarterback sneak, giving them a 10-point advantage. DeVonta Smith contributed with a key 28-yard reception on third down during that drive.
The Chiefs responded with a 49-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter, narrowing the deficit to three points. However, the Eagles managed to secure a first down using their signature quarterback sneak—often referred to as the “Tush Push”—allowing them to run out the clock and clinch the win.
Earlier in the game, running back Saquon Barkley opened scoring for Philadelphia with a 13-yard rushing touchdown, marking his 50th career rushing score. Kicker Jake Elliott added field goals from 58 and 51 yards. On defense, Jordan Davis made an impact by batting two passes at the line of scrimmage and applying pressure throughout the game. Defensive end Za’Darius Smith also contributed by combining with Mukuba for a sack and recording multiple pressures in his debut for Philadelphia.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes rushed for one touchdown and passed for another but was intercepted once and pressured several times. Kansas City played without defensive end Mike Danna and cornerback Kristian Fulton due to injuries sustained during the game.
Next week, the Eagles will host the Los Angeles Rams at Lincoln Financial Field. The Rams are currently undefeated after their recent win against Tennessee.
