The Philadelphia Eagles opened their preseason with a 34-27 win over the Cincinnati Bengals at Lincoln Financial Field. Quarterback Tanner McKee led the team, throwing for 252 yards and accounting for three total touchdowns.

The game began with the Bengals scoring first as Joe Burrow connected with Ja’Marr Chase and then found Tanner Hudson for a touchdown. The Eagles responded on their next drive, highlighted by a 38-yard run from Will Shipley and two completions to Jahan Dotson. Tanner McKee finished the drive with a rushing touchdown using the “Tush Push” play.

Cincinnati regained the lead when Burrow threw a 36-yard touchdown pass to Chase. In the second quarter, Jake Elliott kicked a 44-yard field goal after McKee completed passes to Johnny Wilson and Darius Cooper. Rookie Ty Robinson recorded his first sack of the preseason during this period.

Ainias Smith caught a six-yard touchdown pass from McKee following an extended drive that included key catches by Wilson and Cooper, as well as strong runs from A.J. Dillon. Braden Mann added the extra point after the score.

McKee continued his performance with another touchdown pass, this time to Darius Cooper for 20 yards, set up by a long punt return from Smith. By halftime, McKee had thrown for 193 yards and was responsible for three touchdowns.

In the third quarter, Elliott made another field goal after a sustained drive featuring multiple receptions by Cooper and Kylen Granson. The Bengals answered with their own field goal before Eagles linebacker Patrick Johnson intercepted a tipped pass.

The fourth quarter saw ShunDerrick Powell score on a two-yard run following Johnson’s interception. The Bengals narrowed the gap with another field goal and later scored on a pass from Desmond Ridder to Hudson but could not close the deficit.

Among standout performances, McKee completed 20 of 25 passes and solidified his position as backup quarterback. Darius Cooper led all receivers with six catches for 82 yards and one touchdown. Patrick Johnson contributed an interception return of 16 yards, while rookie Ty Robinson recorded his first sack in his NFL debut. Johnny Wilson caught three passes for 73 yards, including two contested jump balls, and Ainias Smith added both a receiving touchdown and significant yardage on special teams.

The Eagles will resume practice Saturday morning before holding a public session Sunday evening at Lincoln Financial Field. Their next preseason matchup is scheduled against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday afternoon, preceded by two joint practices between both teams.
