The Philadelphia Eagles have added wide receiver Xavier Gipson to their roster after he was waived by the New York Giants on September 20. Gipson began the current season with the New York Jets but was released following Week 1.

To make room for Gipson, the Eagles have waived offensive lineman Kenyon Green.

Gipson entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and earned a spot on the Jets’ active roster after training camp. He made a notable debut by scoring a walk-off punt return touchdown during “Monday Night Football” against the Buffalo Bills.

During his time with the Jets, Gipson played in 35 games and recorded 68 punt returns and 44 kick returns. After being claimed by the Giants, he did not appear in any games before being released. The Eagles’ recent kickoff return duties were handled by Tank Bigsby and John Metchie III.

In addition to his special teams work, Gipson has caught 27 passes for 268 yards and one touchdown in his career.
