The Philadelphia Eagles will be missing two important players for their Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter, who is dealing with shoulder injuries, and right tackle Lane Johnson, who has a foot injury, are both listed as inactive.

The Eagles’ full list of inactives includes Jalen Carter (defensive tackle), A.J. Dillon (running back), Sam Howell (third quarterback), Lane Johnson (tackle), Mac McWilliams (cornerback), and Joshua Uche (outside linebacker).

Safety Marcus Epps returns to action after being activated from Injured Reserve earlier in the day. Epps had missed the previous four games. Last week, Sydney Brown started alongside Reed Blankenship at safety, but Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio said Epps could start against the Chargers. Safety Andre’ Sam was also elevated from the practice squad for the second week in a row.

With Carter out, rookie Ty Robinson is active after being a healthy scratch for four consecutive games. Robinson previously played his most snaps of the season when Carter was inactive against the Giants in Week 6.

Fred Johnson will start at right tackle in place of Lane Johnson. Fred Johnson has already started at this position for Philadelphia over the past three games.

Joshua Uche is inactive for a second straight week after appearing in each of the first 11 games this season.

For the Chargers, quarterback Justin Herbert is active following surgery on his non-throwing hand that he injured during Los Angeles’ win over the Raiders last week. Backup Trey Lance stepped in briefly before Herbert returned to finish that game.

Rookie running back Omarion Hampton also returns for Los Angeles after being activated from Injured Reserve on Monday. Hampton suffered an ankle fracture in Week 5 and has not played since then. Before his injury, Hampton recorded 128 rushing yards and one touchdown against the Giants.
