The Philadelphia Eagles announced their list of inactive players ahead of their game against the Dallas Cowboys, following the elevation of safety Marcus Epps and outside linebacker Patrick Johnson from the practice squad.
The Eagles’ inactives include outside linebackers Azeez Ojulari and Ogbo Okoronkwo, quarterback Tanner McKee, center/guard Drew Kendall, tackle Cameron Williams, guard Kenyon Green, and defensive tackle Ty Robinson. All-Pro left guard Landon Dickerson appeared on the injury report earlier in the week with a back issue but was expected to be a full participant at Wednesday’s walk-through.
Quarterback Tanner McKee was ruled out for this matchup. Sam Howell will serve as backup quarterback to Jalen Hurts. The Eagles acquired Howell from the Minnesota Vikings after their final preseason game. Offensive Coordinator Kevin Patullo commented on Howell’s quick adjustment to the team: “He’s been amazing,” Patullo said this week. “He’s worked extremely hard on preparing. [Quarterbacks Coach] Scot Loeffler’s done a great job and so has [Passing Game Coordinator] Parks Frazier with him and making sure he knows where we’re at with obviously the game plan, but even giving him just a grassroots baseline of the offense because he came in so late.”
With both Okoronkwo and Ojulari inactive, Philadelphia’s edge rushing duties will fall to Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt, Joshua Uche, and Patrick Johnson. The Eagles will have eight offensive linemen active for this contest: their starting five along with reserves Fred Johnson, Brett Toth, and Matt Pryor.
For Dallas, running back Jaydon Blue; defensive tackles Shemar James, Mazi Smith, and Perrion Winfrey; tackles Ajani Cornelius and Hakeem Adeniji; and guard Trevor Keegan are listed as inactive. Notably, Cowboys starting cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) and left tackle Tyler Guyton (knee) are both available to play.
