The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Mar. 13 that punter Braden Mann has agreed to terms on a four-year deal, securing his position with the team through the 2029 season.
This agreement follows what the team describes as one of the most successful three-year stretches for a punter in franchise history. The move is significant for both Mann and the Eagles, who operate as a professional American football team in the National Football League, according to the official website.
Special Teams Coordinator Michael Clay said of Mann late in the 2025 season, “I could talk on and on about Braden, but I think he’s done an unbelievable job flipping the field and I still think he has one of the best hands in the NFL when it comes to a holding scenario. But again, having to deal with a couple different long snappers due to injury, nothing really changed. You always knew that the operation with Braden out there being the holder was going to be down pat. So he’s done a really, really nice job this year.”
Since joining Philadelphia early in the 2023 regular season, Mann has become the team’s all-time leading punter in both net average (42.9 yards) and gross average (49.5 yards). His single-season gross averages rank first (49.9 in 2025), second (49.8 in 2023), and third (48.8 in 2024) in team history. He also holds two of the top net average seasons for an Eagles punter and set a single-game franchise record for best net average per punt against the Giants this past season at 57 yards.
Mann’s performance includes an 82.3 punting grade—fifth highest among NFL punters in 2025 according to Pro Football Focus—and a season-long punt of 76 yards that tied for second longest league-wide that year. According to NFL’s Next Gen Stats, his average punt distance was fifth longest among all punters with at least thirty attempts during that season.
Beyond his punting duties, Mann serves as holder for kicker Jake Elliott, who surpassed both 100 points for the season and reached over 1,000 career points during 2025. In Super Bowl LIX, Mann held for Elliott as he broke a championship-game record by scoring fifteen points.
Mann entered professional football as a sixth-round draft pick by the New York Jets in 2020 after winning several collegiate honors at Texas A&M University.
The Eagles maintain their base in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania according to their official website.
