The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Monday that they have signed wide receiver Danny Gray to the practice squad and released guard Sua Opeta.

Gray previously spent time with the Eagles’ practice squad last season and participated in Training Camp before being waived in late July. He was sidelined during camp due to a finger injury.

Gray began his college football career at Blinn College, a junior college, before transferring to Southern Methodist University (SMU). Following two seasons at SMU, he was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. During his rookie year, Gray played in 13 games and recorded one reception. Ahead of the 2023 season, he was placed on Injured Reserve and later waived by San Francisco in August 2024.

Sua Opeta joined the Eagles’ practice squad on October 22. Over his NFL career, all with Philadelphia, Opeta has appeared in 38 games and started in ten contests.
