The Philadelphia Eagles have made changes to their practice squad, signing cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields and releasing cornerback Eli Ricks.
Castro-Fields previously spent time on the Eagles’ practice squad during 2024 and signed a futures contract with the team in the offseason. He was waived at the end of training camp with an injury designation. Over his NFL career, Castro-Fields has played in 12 games, including one start for the Washington Commanders in 2023. Before entering the league, he appeared in 53 games over five seasons at Penn State, where he recorded 25 passes defended, three interceptions, and 10 tackles for loss. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Eli Ricks had multiple stints on Philadelphia’s practice squad this season after spending two years on their active roster. Ricks joined the Eagles as an undrafted free agent from Alabama in 2023.
