Eagles add Marcus Epps and Patrick Johnson to roster for season opener

The Philadelphia Eagles have elevated safety Marcus Epps and outside linebacker Patrick Johnson to the active roster for their season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Epps, who was with the New England Patriots during the offseason, joined the Eagles practice squad last Thursday after being released. He has appeared in 82 career games and made 45 starts, including 25 starts for the Eagles between 2020 and 2022.

Johnson spent the offseason with the Eagles and rejoined their practice squad following his release on roster cutdown day. He has played in 61 NFL games, with 49 of those appearances coming as a member of the Eagles.
