The Philadelphia Eagles have activated cornerback Jakorian Bennett from Injured Reserve, the team announced Wednesday. In a corresponding move, the Eagles placed cornerback Jaire Alexander on the Reserve/Retired list.

Bennett joined the Eagles via trade from the Las Vegas Raiders during Training Camp. He was placed on Injured Reserve after sustaining a pectoral injury in Week 3 against the Rams. Since joining Philadelphia, Bennett has played 24 defensive snaps this season and has recorded six tackles and one pass defensed.

Last week against the Green Bay Packers, Quinyon Mitchell and Adoree’ Jackson started at outside cornerback for the Eagles, with Cooper DeJean playing in the slot. Kelee Ringo has also started two games on the outside this season. The cornerback group also includes rookie Mac McWilliams and Michael Carter II, who was acquired from the New York Jets before the trade deadline.

With Alexander moving to the Reserve/Retired list shortly after his acquisition by Philadelphia, there was no need for an additional roster spot to be opened on the team’s 53-man roster.
