The Philadelphia Eagles have reached an agreement to acquire running back and kick returner Tank Bigsby from the Jacksonville Jaguars. The deal involves the Eagles sending a fifth-round and a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Jaguars.

Bigsby, who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 215 pounds, will join an already deep running back group in Philadelphia. He was drafted by Jacksonville in the third round (88th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft after playing at Auburn University. Last season, he led his team with 766 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.

In 2024, Bigsby delivered notable performances for the Jaguars, including a game against the Indianapolis Colts where he rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns, and another game against the New England Patriots where he tallied 118 yards and two scores. These were his first career games surpassing 100 rushing yards.

Philadelphia sees value not only in Bigsby’s running ability but also his skills as a kick returner. The NFL introduced changes to kickoff rules before the 2024 season, moving touchbacks out to the 35-yard line instead of the previous 30. This resulted in an increase in returned kickoffs during Week 1 of the current season, with about three-quarters of all kickoffs being returned.

Bigsby finished last year with over one thousand all-purpose yards and averaged more than thirty-two yards per kickoff return. In Jacksonville’s recent win over Carolina, he recorded a twenty-yard kickoff return.

At Auburn, Bigsby accumulated nearly three thousand rushing yards and scored twenty-five touchdowns across his college career. He had thirteen games with at least one hundred rushing yards and set personal records during his time there. His nickname “Tank” was given by his mother when he was seven years old.

Head Coach Nick Sirianni recently praised special teams coordinator Michael Clay following a victory over Dallas, indicating that Bigsby’s addition is expected to further bolster both special teams and offensive depth for Philadelphia.
