Another season of the Arizona Fall League has concluded, with the Surprise Saguaros taking the championship over the Peoria Javelinas. The team was made up of prospects from several Major League Baseball organizations, including the Philadelphia Phillies.
Among the standout performers for the final week was Dylan Campbell, an outfielder in the Phillies organization. Campbell recorded a .636 batting average (7-for-11), drove in three runs, scored twice, and drew three walks. He led all players in hits during the last week and reached base 10 times in 14 plate appearances. His performance included a home run as part of a three-hit game against Salt River and at least one hit in each of his four games played that week. In addition to leading his team in OPS during the regular season, Campbell finished with a .304/.419/.625 slash line, four home runs, 16 RBIs, four stolen bases, and 14 walks.
Other notable performances came from Alfredo Duno (Peoria/Cincinnati Reds), who hit four home runs—including three in one semifinal game—and Blake Mitchell (Surprise/Kansas City Royals), who helped secure his team’s spot in the championship with a walk-off single in the semifinals and contributed both offensively and defensively in the title game.
Owen Ayers (Mesa/Chicago Cubs) was recognized as Breakout Player of the Year after posting strong numbers throughout the fall league. Pitchers Trenton Denholm (Surprise/Cleveland Guardians) and Bryce Cunningham (Mesa/New York Yankees) also delivered key outings for their teams during playoff action.
The Arizona Fall League serves as an opportunity for top prospects to further develop their skills against high-level competition before returning to their respective organizations for spring training.
