Amy J. Goldberg, MD, FACS, who serves as the Marjorie Joy Katz Dean at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, spoke with The Philadelphia Inquirer about changes to Drexel University’s Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) program. Traditionally focused on advancing women in medicine, this year’s ELAM cohort will now be open to men.
Dr. Goldberg is an alumna of the ELAM program and expressed her support for expanding its reach. “Dr. Goldberg is a graduate of ELAM and supports allowing men into the program,” according to a statement.
The ELAM initiative is known for developing leaders in academic medicine and has historically been aimed at supporting women professionals in the field.
