Katie Collins and Simone Sawyer were recognized on Apr. 28 by the Philadelphia Big 5 for their performances during the 2025-26 women’s basketball season. The honors followed votes from head coaches across the city.

The recognition highlights notable achievements by both athletes over the course of the season. These awards reflect their impact on Penn’s women’s basketball team, as well as their standing among local collegiate players.

Collins was named to the first team after starting all 27 games in her sophomore year at Penn. She earned her second consecutive All-Ivy Second Team selection, following a rookie of the year award in the previous season. Collins averaged 13 points, 7.6 rebounds, and led in blocks per game within her conference while scoring double figures in nineteen games and recording three double-doubles.

Sawyer was recognized as the top free-throw shooter among Big 5 players. The senior guard from Lincolnshire, Illinois shot an impressive 88.1 percent from the free-throw line—ranking twenty-second nationally—and improved significantly from her previous campaign. Sawyer started twenty-four games this season and contributed to Penn’s seventeen-win regular season with an average of eleven and a half points per game.
