The Philadelphia Union announced on Apr. 27 that the auction for a unique pair of shoes worn by Frankie Westfield will close tonight at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The auction is the result of a collaboration between the Philadelphia Union, Leveling the Playing Field, and Meghan Burns from With an H Designs.

The shoes were created using donated materials collected through Subaru: Gear for Good initiative and other donation drives led by Leveling the Playing Field. Items that could not be redistributed have been repurposed into this one-of-a-kind piece of footwear.

Frankie Westfield wore these custom-made shoes as part of his role as a Subaru: Gear for Good ambassador before the Philadelphia Union’s Greener Goals theme night on April 18. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Leveling the Playing Field to support their work in expanding access and equity within youth sports and recreation programs in under-resourced communities.

Philadelphia Union features a roster of professional players on its main team, according to the official website. The club achieved Major League Soccer’s Supporters’ Shield in 2020 for best regular-season performance, according to its official website. The team’s facilities include Subaru Park, a soccer-specific stadium located on Chester’s waterfront, along with training centers and practice fields as described by its official website.

Philadelphia Union functions as a professional soccer team representing its city in Major League Soccer while also fostering fan engagement, youth development programs, and community ties according to its official site. The organization offers competitive matches and entertainment opportunities for supporters through ticket sales and published lineups according to its official website. It operates within professional sports specifically in soccer as part of Major League Soccer according to its official website.
