Recent Penn graduate Anna Brandt has been selected to join the United States roster for the Nissin Foods 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship, which will take place in Tokyo from July 24 through August 2. The announcement was made by U.S. head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein, who named the final group of 22 players representing Team USA.
Brandt, a midfielder, previously played for Team USA at both the Atlas Cup and the Pan-American Championship in 2025. During her collegiate career at Penn, she received several honors including being named a consensus First Team All-American by USA Lacrosse, Inside Lacrosse, and the IWLCA. She also won IWLCA and Ivy League Midfielder of the Year awards and was a Unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection.
In her final season with Penn, Brandt led her team in free position goals (11), caused turnovers (28), ground balls (60), goals (68), and points (71). She broke three program records: all-time goals with her 149th against Temple in February, all-time draw control with her 174th against Loyola Maryland, and single-season goal record with her 64th of the year during the NCAA quarterfinals against Northwestern. She also tied the single-game goal record by scoring nine goals against Cornell.
Brandt became the first player in Penn program history to reach 200 career goals after scoring six times in the opening rounds of the NCAA women’s lacrosse tournament. The Tewaaraton Foundation recognized her as a semifinalist for its prestigious award for the first time in her career.
