Andre Blake joins Jamaica for World Cup qualifying after winning Supporters’ Shield

Shortly after helping his club secure the Supporters’ Shield, Philadelphia Union captain Andre Blake has been called up to join the Jamaican National Team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Blake, who has been named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year three times, will represent Jamaica in matches scheduled for October 10 against Curaçao and October 14 against Bermuda.

Blake’s participation with the national team comes at a time when he continues to play a central role both for his club and country.
