University of Pennsylvania freshman libero Addison Pollock has been recognized as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, according to an announcement from the league.
Pollock played a key role for the Penn Quakers during last weekend’s Charm City Classic, where she recorded 71 digs across three matches. She led the team in digs in each match, beginning with 24 against Coppin State on Friday. On Saturday, she notched a match-high 25 digs in a win over Lafayette and contributed 22 more in a four-set loss to Towson later that evening. Over the course of the weekend, Pollock averaged 5.92 digs per set and has registered more than 20 digs in five consecutive matches. In addition to her defensive efforts, she also posted 17 assists and five service aces, including three against Towson.
Penn currently holds a 3-3 record and will host NJIT on Wednesday night at The Palestra before traveling to compete in the Delaware Invitational at the University of Delaware. The Quakers are scheduled to play Delaware on Friday and Saint Peter’s College on Saturday.
